Dan Houser Leaving Rockstar Games

Dan Houser is set to leave Rockstar Games. This news has come out after Houser had taken an extended sabbatical from the company starting Spring of 2019. Polygon reports that his last day will be March 11th, 2020.

One half of a British brother gamemaker duo, Dan is somewhat of a recluse who does not seek much media attention. Him and his older brother Sam Houser have served as the vice president and president of Rockstar Games respectively since 1998. Dan Houser has served as the sceanrio writer for the Grand Theft Auto games since GTA2. He also served as the lead designer for Bully, wrote for Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2 Max Payne 3 and wrote the dialogue for Midnight Club: Los Angeles.

Rockstar is a house he helped build. Things are going to be different with his absence; his departure is going to be like Marvel Comics trying to fill in the void Jack Kirby left when he went to DC in the 1970’s . It’s currently unknown what and where Houser plans on moving to next. Thanks for all the great artistic contributions to the game industry, Dan! We’ll miss you!
