In addition to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Nintendo is planning to release a new Mario and Pokemon game within the first months of Nintendo NX. The news comes from MCV, who says "sources" have said Nintendo is not going to let the NX have a slow start like it did with the 3DS and Wii-U.
Who knows if this one is fake or legit, but it does seem to be widely reported. One thing I'm sure of is that Nintendo has publicly stated that they will not repeat the poor marketing mistakes of the NX. I would argue that giving no concrete information on a console they are launching in less than a year would say they already are making the same mistakes, but I digress.
I was surprised that Nintendo never brought a Mario platformer to the Wii-U, and I wouldn't be surprised to learn that one has been in development and shelved to help bolster the sales of the NX. I can say a new Mario game as well as a new Pokemon will definitely shoot sales through the roof, although I'm not entirely sold on the Pokemon news. With work on Pokemon Sun and Moon just finishing up, I find it hard to believe Game Freak would be simultaneously working on two Pokemon games.
NX rumors have run out of control as of late, so it would be nice if Nintendo would just step up to the plate and answer some questions about this console already!
