SONIC 2 For Switch Finally Has A Release Date Along With A Surprise Release Of PUYO PUYO 2!

The long-awaited version of Sonic 2 for Switch has finally received a release date of February 20th! Originally announced as part of the Sega Ages Collection for Switch back in 2018, the Sonic 2 conversion has been eerily quiet until the past few months. It was previously announced that the title would be getting Knuckles the Echidna as a nice bonus for fans of the original lock on cart mode featured by connecting Sonic 2 with Sonic and Knuckles. Today a few more additions for the game have been announced such as the inclusion of the drop dash from Sonic Mania as well as a super Sonic mode and time trial mode complete with online leaderboard.

Joining Sonic 2 on February 20th is Puyo Puyo 2 which hasn’t been seen in the west for over 20 years! This version of Puyo Puyo 2 is also getting some special treatment as the game will have a new online 2 player mode and new colorblind mode to ensure everyone can play the title. There will also be online rankings so you can put your puzzle game skills to the ultimate test! The last included feature of this release is a quick rewind mode that looks like it reverts back a move to fix critical mistakes.

Both Sonic 2 and Puyo Puyo 2 will be available for Switch on February 20th ay a price of $7.99.
