Following the success of their Kickstarter campaign, indie developers Spooky Doorway has continued to work on the sequel title to The Darkside Detective. While they have been providing updates periodically on the development of The Darkside Detective: Season 2, it still caught me by surprise when they announced the free demo for the game being released on Steam. Especially since it follows closely to their new partnership with publisher Akupara Games, who took over the original title and will be working with them on the new one.
While there hasn’t been news as to what this new partnership will bring the series, I am hopeful that we might see some console editions announced soon. At least, for now, we have a way to try out the second season of this comical point-and-click supernatural mystery series. They haven’t provided a new trailer to go along with this announcement, but if it is anything like the demo of the first game then we can expect to play through at least a good portion of the first case of the game, leaving the remaining five cases to be for the full season.
