Returnal was a phenomenal PS5 exclusive title that really helped put the console on the map. With its fast paced roguelike gameplay, captivating story, and amazing graphics, the game became a one-hit wonder for many fans. Now Housemarque could be teasing news on the 3 year anniversary of the titles release.
While Housemarque has been silent since the release of Returnal, we only know that the next game they are working will pick up ideas that were not implemented in the title and that it will be a new IP.
In a post on X, the company put out an image that resembles a close-up of Returnal protagonist, Selene’s face with the caption of Tomorrow.
It is entriely possible that the image could be hinting at either new content, or something to show the behind the scenes for the game, as April 30th, 2021 was the relaese date for Returnal on PS5, and as such also lines up perfectly with the reason they chose tomorrow as the date to reveal the news.
