Square Enix Is Cutting Back FINAL FANTASY XIV Events At PAX East Due To Coronavirus

Well, it looks like another company is scaling back its plans for PAX East thanks to the coronavirus. Square Enix was going to host a number of special events at the show for its ongoing MMO Final Fantasy XIV. Some of these events will still proceed as planned but special visits from the games development staff have been canceled and the team will remain in Japan instead of traveling to Boston. For attendees of the show next week, Square Enix will still have a booth present that will be showcasing Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy XIV. The “A New Flavor of Sci-Fi: Creating the Universe of Outriders” panel will still be taking place on February 29 as well. Another of the planned events “The Artwork of Final Fantasy XIV: A Look Behind the Screen” will be switched over to a live broadcast over on Twitch.
