Marking the 5th anniversary from the launch of Mimimi Games base title, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun comes a long-awaited standalone expansion title. Daedalic Entertainment has released the reveal trailer as they announced Aiko’s Choice which holds a few scenes that could be spoilers for the base title. Still, this trailer is worth checking out and revealed that this new expansion title will release on PC via Steam this December 6th.
Players will once again be sent to the ancient capital of Japan, Edo. There they will accompany the kunoichi adept Aiko and her deadly assassin friends to hunt down the ghosts of her past. The original game is not required to enjoy this new adventure in this beautifully designed world.
With how long it has been since the original game has released, it’s a bit curious why the developers didn’t just decide to make a second title in the series featured around Aiko rather than a standalone expansion. Either way, at least we have a new reason to get back into the ninja-style action that Shadow Tactics is built on.
