The ALIEN RPG To Get A New Starter Set And Cinematic Scenario!

If you missed the GameTyrant review, I couldn’t get enough of the ALIEN RPG from Free League Publishing that released in December of 2019 to critical acclaim.

And now, Free League Publishing and 20th Century Studios have announced TWO expansions for the official ALIEN tabletop roleplaying game. In August, players will be able to get a boxed Starter Set, as well as the brand-new cinematic scenario Destroyer of Worlds.

Both expansions are available for pre-order from the Free League Publishing store.

Here are the details on both expansions:

The Starter Set is designed to be accessible for new players. It’s affordable—priced at $49.99—but it includes an abridged 104-page softcover of the core rules and the cinematic scenario Chariot of the Gods by Andrew E.C. Gaska. And there are also dice, reference cards, handouts, and a starmap to get you started. It’s everything you need to jump into the roleplaying universe.

Destroyer of Worlds—also written by Gaska—continues the story from Chariot, with a narrative focus on the Colonial Marine, an iconic character from the movies. Play as a team of Colonial Marines who fight an insurgency on the moon Ariaricus, but are forced to fight for their lives when things go wrong. ALIEN-wrong. The new cinematic scenario will come in a boxed set, including maps, handouts, and cards for a one-of-a-kind tabletop experience.

Free League Publishing is offering two wonderful opportunities for tabletop gamers. One is a way for new players to experience the world of ALIEN like never before, without the intimidating obstacle of getting the full RPG bundle. And the other is a continuation of the fantastic cinematic scenarios with a new story!

I’ve been impressed with the narrative content and high-quality design of Free League Publishing so far. Let’s hope the hot streak continues!
