The CG Remake Of The First POKEMON Movie Is Hitting Netflix Next Month

When researchers discover and exploit a fossil of the Mythical Pokémon Mew, they unleash a creation that goes against the very laws of nature. The Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo was intended for use as a tool of destruction. But as Mewtwo becomes aware of its own dubious origin, it begins to resent its human creators and seeks revenge...

Pokemon the First Movie was such a big deal back in 1999 when it released in theaters. Everyone I knew was going to see it with a few going multiple times to try and collect all 4 of the promo trading cards. Even people that made fun of you for watching Pokemon were seeing it (you best believe I gave them so much crap for it too)! anyways, it was a big deal. For the 20th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise in 2016 special screenings for the movie were done and I had a blast taking my 3-year-old (at the time) daughter who adored the movie.

Then came the announcement that the first movie was getting a CG remake and being redubbed Pokemon: Mewtwo Strikes Back - Evolution. Ever since that announcement I haven’t known how to feel about the film. I mean, do we really need a new version of the first Pokemon film especially in CG? I don’t know, maybe after seeing it, I will love this new take on it which I and all of you in North America will finally be able to do starting February 27th on Netflix! To celebrate the announcement a new trailer for the film, featuring the current English cast for the anime, has been released. I gotta admit it has some sleek effects and should prove interesting to see.

Are you excited about seeing Pokemon: Mewtwo Strikes Back - Evolution?
