Evercade is continuing to grow its library in droves as the announcements keep rolling in. This time we get the Worms franchise, as well as Jaleco Collection 1, and the Piko Interactive Collection 2. The latter two were announced a few weeks ago but the new Worms cartridge is freshly announced by the folks over at Evercade! Let’s dive in and talk about what’s included in each cart, starting with Worms.
This cart features 3 classics titles from the series, Worms, Worms Armageddon, and Worms Blast! These 16-bit and 32-bit titles offer pass and play multiplayer action for you to enjoy with friends! Team17 are really proud of this achievement on the 25th anniversary of the series. Harley Homewood, Business Development Director, of Team17 said that “Today marks an incredible milestone for Team17 and the Worms series, which continues to be loved by gamers of all ages around the globe. We’re really pleased to partner with Blaze Entertainment to bring three of our most popular installments of the Worms series to the Evercade platform”. Since 1995, this franchise has brought light and humorous vibes to the strategy genre, and that’s why it’s so beloved.
The Evercade Worms collection releases in May of 2021 and pre-orders are expected to open in the coming months.
In April of 2021 players will also be treated to the additional carts I was talking about earlier. The Jaleco Collection 1 and Piko Interactive Collection 2 will treat players to a large assortment of retro titles to enjoy! The Jaleco Collection 1 features 10 games in total and includes titles such as Brawl Brothers, City Connection, Astyanax, and Earth Defense Force.
