The Indie Houses Direct Looks To Bring An Indies-For-Indies Initiative

Today’s marketplace for video games is saturated with thousands of titles within a wide range of genres. There really is a game out there for everybody. The indie-focused publishers that help bring the best titles to light on the most active markets such as Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo, are mostly made up of indie lovers themselves. Instead of thriving in a marketplace full of cutthroat competition, they like to work in an environment of shared collective knowledge.

This shared knowledge is typically known as “Indies-for-Indies” and this environment is what The Indie Houses is built on. With their aim being to help promote the shared knowledge between a wider range of publishers, they are officially kicking off this movement with The Indie Houses Direct event! Starting on August 31st and lasting until September 7th, players everywhere can enjoy an event full of game announcements, demos, live broadcasts, game bundles, and sales! It is pretty much a week-long Steam Festival and will be hosted on both Twitch and YouTube.

The publishers involved in the first Indie Houses Direct event include Akupara Games, Fellow Traveller, Neon Doctrine, Raw Fury, Those Awesome Guys, Toge Productions, and Whitethorn Games. While they are hoping to have more publishers involved in the future, this is a pretty awesome starting list! The Indie Houses Direct will be an hour-long segment, packed to the brim with news and reveals. A week-long Steam event will take place following the showcase.

Be sure to come by the showcase and see the following features taking place during the Direct:

  • New game announcements

  • Never-before-seen content

  • Content Updates and reveals

  • Developer live streams and Q&A sessions

  • African Developer Prototype Fund

  • And more!
