Whether you are a fan of in-game activities, various themed merchandise, or the trading card game, The Pokémon Company has made some announcements for all Pokémon fans to check out! To start it off, they are looking to give fans another way to “Pokémon Together” by spotlighting various Pokémon throughout 2023, inviting everyone to discover and learn more about unique Pokémon across the franchise. The first “Discover Pokémon Together” program kicks off today, featuring fan-favorite Pokémon Lechonk!
Fans will also be able to Discover Lechonk through a special Flying–Tera Type Lechonk distribution in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, a new collection of Lechonk-inspired merchandise on Pokemon Center website, themed activities on Pokémon UNITE, and a celebratory animation channel on Pokémon TV.
In addition to new swag and in-game events, fans will have the opportunity to discover Lechonk by playing the newest expansion for the best-selling Pokémon TCG, Scarlet & Violet, available in booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes, and special collections at participating retailers worldwide, including Pokemon Center’s website. The new expansion adopts an updated take on Pokémon ex, a gameplay mechanic featuring Pokémon with high HP as well as powerful attacks and Abilities, and introduces Tera Pokémon ex to the Pokémon TCG. To celebrate the launch, fans can visit Best Buy & GameStop to pick up a special Scarlet & Violet promo card featuring Lechonk!
Looking forward, they have also announced the next expansion of the best-selling Pokémon Trading Card Game, Scarlet & Violet—Paldea Evolved. This expansion will introduce more Pokémon ex, which sports high HP as well as powerful attacks and Abilities but give up two Prize cards when Knocked Out. Trainers will also continue to see Tera Pokémon ex in the new expansion, including Slowking, Forretress, and Dedenne, displayed in full-art illustrations to capture the unique crystal effects of the characters.
