Turns Out Those SILENT HILL Rumors Aren't True

Last week speculations and rumors broke out surrounding the possibility of new Silent Hill titles being released. The rumor stated that there would be a possible series reboot and that we would finally get the continuation of Hideo Kojima’s Silent Hills game. As improbable as the whole thing sounded many series and horror fans were hoping for the rumor to be true. Unfortunately, they are not. In a statement given to Rely On Horror, the US branch of Konami claims the rumors are simply “not true.” Full statement below.

We’re aware of all the rumors and reports but can confirm that they are not true. I know it’s not the answer your fans may want to hear.

It’s not to say we are completely closing the door on the franchise, just not in the way it is being reported.

I find the second part of the statement to be the truly curious part though. Things as they are currently being circulated may not be accurate but does it make them completely false? Could we see both of these rumored games down the line done in a way that doesn’t coincide with the original rumor? Either way it is an unfortunate take away for fans who want nothing more than to see the series continue. Maybe someday soon more light will be shed on the foggy subject.
