Shadows of Beauty
Opinions may vary on the 15 years and running MMO World of Warcraft yet there is little debate on how gorgeous the latest update to the graphics engine and effects are. Now with NVIDIA RTX features, Shadowlands is shaping up to be an absolute stunning visual feast. While leveling through a Blood Elf Mage up to level 15 and a Human Warlock through familiar Alliance lands , the sights, sounds, and effects I witnessed were second to none.
While the first portion of the game could be considered a very long tutorial in a sense, there are optional areas and treasures to explore which made a big difference overall. While this isn’t your Grandaddy’s WoW, it’s something new, fresh, and absolutely gorgeous.
With everything maxed out at 3840x1600 (click on any of the screenshots in the article for a full resolution view), the game absolutely shines. We’ve come a long way from Classic and while the gameplay may be more simplified, the graphics are anything but. With the imminent launch of new graphics cards from NVIDIA and AMD, it’s a great time to upgrade and enjoy these lush visuals. More to come on the actual expansion and gameplay but for now, we are going to bask in the glory that is Shadowlands..
