AWAY: THE SURVIVAL SERIES Closes Out Summertime With A Beachfront Update
As we come to a close on the Summer season for 2020 and start to get into the spooky season that is the beginning of Fall, developers Breaking Walls wanted to share a final summertime view of their upcoming title AWAY: The Survival Series. Some of us have already had the chance to get a first impression of the game where we played as the main animal, the Sugar Glider, in a flight-based chunk of the game, but they aren’t done showing off all the different animals players will be able to control!
Along with showing off the dangers that the wavey water can present in the short Gif below, we also get confirmation that we will have the chance to play as a crab with the above Gif and are told how to do so. While playing as the Sugar Glider, crabs will be mostly harmless creatures that will only become a threat if you make them out to be one, but if you want to play as one then you’ll need a bit of luck as you have to find some blue mushrooms that let you play as a crab, so keep your eyes peeled for those.
As the developers continue to improve this game with more graphical qualities, such as the beach scenery, in order to provide a proper atmosphere, they are keeping in mind the importance of keeping the frame rate optimized. They have confirmed the use of visual tricks to pull off this scenery in order to save more resources for other gameplay-related elements. You can also appreciate the soundscape of the games beach scenery with this hour-long, audio-based video provided directly from the developers themselves.
It definitely seems that AWAY is on a good track to becoming an interesting game and I am looking forward to what they have in store next! Let’s hope it has something to do with the spooky season that is now upon us.
