A month after the appearance of Ryu and Sakura from Street Fighter, Capcom has just announced that Dante from the Devil May Cry franchise will be the next character to appear in Monster Hunter: World in a new collaboration event.

Dante’s crossover to Monster Hunter: World will allow players to equip several of Dante’s weapons from Devil May Cry. Dante will also be sporting a stylish demon hunter costume. Capcom has released an action-packed trailer showcasing Dante plunging his transforming sword into one of Monster Hunter: World’s trademark beasts. By the end of the trailer, Dante is shown running away from a monster, with meat in tow. As of now, Capcom is still yet to reveal the release date for the Monster Hunter and Devil May Cry collaboration, although players will be able to obtain some collectible goods through a special quest as announced by Capcom via their official blog

First Street Fighter, then Devil May Cry. Now I wondering which Capcom franchise will be heading to Monster Hunter: World Soon. I would definitely love to see characters from Resident Evil be placed in a fantasy setting like Monster Hunter; it would be interesting to see characters such as Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield hunting down monsters, just as they do with B.O.Ws in Resident Evil.

Don’t forget to check out our full review of Monster Hunter: World, where we talked about the game’s versatility in terms of being a slightly approachable game for beginners, while retaining the complex gameplay that veteran fans of the series loved in previous installments.
