EA Was Concerned About BATTLEFIELD 1 Because They Thought Kids Didn't Know About WWI Happening

Turns out EA executives aren't just out of touch when it comes to the needs of the gaming community. Sounds like they're out of the loop on a LOT of s***. This statement comes from Gamespot reporting the company was reluctant to sign off on Battlefield 1, because they believed children didn't know about World War 1 happening. Out of context, that sounds bad, but the actual quote is worse...

"World War 1, we were worried that many of the younger consumers out there didn't know that there was a World War 2 or Vietnam, so World War 1..."

When's the last time any of these executives had a child in school?! Better yet, when's the last time they've been online and seen the thousands of Hitler memes?! Who the hell thinks there is a considerable chunk of American, European, or Asian children who are not acutely aware that the world had two massive wars that shaped the state of our world?

Granted, I'm sure kids today don't know a ton about the actual World War 1, but even at worst they've played COD: World At War. I personally don't think they actually meant it to sound like that, but rather knew Activision was making a future based COD and wanted to keep up with the Joneses, but they'd never admit that. Still, what a ridiculous gaffe to make!
