Fallout 76 has had a rough track record. Todd Howard himself came out on stage during Bethesda’s E3 presentation to talk about the very well deserved criticism that the game has received, and that the devs are listening. The next update for the game is called Wastelanders, and is the biggest yet. The team behind Fallout 76 says the update arrives later this Fall and, will fundamentally change the game. You can watch the update trailer below.
Wastelanders will feature the return of human NPCs, full dialogue trees with choices and consequences, a new main quest line, and new weapons and gear. The update will be free for all Fallout 76 players. In the more immediate future, Fallout 76 is receiving a new game mode called Nuclear Winter. Nuclear Winter is a 52 player battle royale where players fight for the position of Overseer in Vault 51. Watch the trailer for Nuclear Winter below.
Fallout 76 is free to play June 10-17 in the spirit of E3, so if you haven’t tried Fallout 76 yet, now is the time to do it. If you end up enjoying the game, it is also heavily discounted on all platforms during the E3 festivities, so make sure you pick that up while you still can.
