Amongst many other exciting details being revealed about the Xbox Series X, it was announced that Gears 5 was being optimized for the next generation and that current owners of the critically acclaimed title would receive the optimized version for free via Xbox’s Smart Delivery program.
Not only is it exciting to see that Gears 5 will utilize the new tech that will arrive with the next-generation consoles, but it’s also great to see that Xbox is keeping their fanbase in mind by allowing those that already own the game to just upgrade.
Other games supported by Smart Delivery include Cyberpunk 2077, arriving September 17th. I have no doubt that the team at Xbox will continue to add other titles into their Smart Delivery program, as they have the fans’ best interest at heart. Xbox Series X is set for a Holiday 2020 release later this year.
