Hidden Gems: YONDER: THE CLOUD CATCHER CHRONICLES

Too Many Games.. Yet You Shouldn't Miss This One

Remember when Summer was slow in the game release department? Well, that's just not the case any more. Despite things slowing down just a bit from Spring, there are still smaller and indie titles that slip through the cracks like Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles from some ex Activision and Rocksteady studio gurus ready to bring this bright, colorful yet solid adventures that included crafting, fishing, and all the other goodies that seem to be included in the big hits these days.

First off, the lighting, atmosphere, and ambiance is absolutely fantastic and polished, along with most components of the game despite the stylized and cartoonish type look. Soft lights from lanterns flicker, lightning and rain flash and crash around around, grass sways gently in the breeze. Gathering all the items and creatures in a huge, open world is an absolute joy and honestly, I don't know how I ever missed this title. It's as if TerrariaStardew Valley and Zelda: Breath of the Wild all hooked up and had the cutest and most appealing baby ever.

If exploration, fishing, crafting, and a breezy story interest you, you can check out Yonder now on PC and PS4 now!
