Halloween Horror Nights Is A Safe Haven For Gamers?

With the spooky season right around the corner, we have our happy haunts and horrifying haunted houses coming up just as fast. Today I wanted to talk specifically about Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights (Hollywood). With all eight of the haunted houses announced along with scare zones, there are plenty of recognizable licensed and original houses. There are some fantastic horror houses like Evil Dead (which also has a video game) and Chucky. But what I really wanted to talk about was The Last of Us.

As many or all of you know, there was a show based on The Last of Us that was hugely popular with the first season airing in January of this year. You would expect a Horror Nights house based on how popular the show was which was already good enough for me. BUT, when the announcement officially came out it specified “Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us.” Coming in with some heavy inspiration from the game rather than the show. With some new voice acting from Troy Baker (Joel) and Ashley Johnson (Ellie) recording brand new lines for the haunted houses.

What excites me about this, is that a lot of people don’t realize that the game and show were actually a lot different. Where the show based a lot of conflict around the people, while that was large in the game as well, the game had a lot more zombie interaction than the show. So some terrifying encounters with clickers are expected. Possibly even some bloaters if we’re unlucky!
