Listen up Houston area gamers: Houston Arcade Expo 2021 is still on and it’s coming soon! The event, run by the Houston Area Arcade Group, will be doing its 19th show at the Marriott Westchase on Briarpark Dr in Houston, TX.
As in the past, this convention will be showcasing arcade cabinets, pinball machines, simulators, home and hybrid consoles, computers from yesteryear, and the like! 75 arcade games from fan-favorite game makers such as Atari, Capcom, Data East, Namco, Nintendo, Midway, Sega, Taito, Williams, and beyond have been confirmed with many more to be announced!
In addition to the arcade lineup, console owners will be proudly displaying their game consoles for the public to interact with such as the Sega Dreamcast, Sega Saturn, NES, Super NES, Nintendo 64, PlayStation 2, and off-beat peculiarities such as the Virtual Boy, Famicom Disk System, Neo Geo Pocket, Game Boy Camera, CD-i, 3DO and Atari Jaguar.
Besides video games, over 100 pinball machines (widely acclaimed and obscure) have been confirmed! The centerpiece of this years’ show will be some new titles from Stern: Godzilla, The Mandalorian, and Led Zeppelin. You might have to wait in line for these!
Besides getting familiar with some great games, industry guests will also be attending! Respected game designer and Space Invaders champion Rebecca Heineman (designer of the computer game The Bard's Tale III: Thief of Fate), Donny Gilies (known for his artistic contributions to Stern pinball machines), and Gerry Stellenberg from Multimorphic, Inc will have their own special seminars and booths. Jones, noted for playing Flash Gordon in the 1980 film adaption of the classic serials as well as several television series.
There will also be vendors to get your anime and gaming swag needs, a cosplay contest, and live music!
