The first big push to get people to switch over to PS4 and XBOX One from their previous consoles has come. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Activision's chart-topping blockbuster Call of Duty: Black Ops III will not include a large number of features that have been advertised for the new generation of systems. Most notable among these exclusions is the removal of the highly-anticipated 4-player co-op campaign. There will still be support for two of the most popular modes of play: multiplayer and zombies, but if you're looking for a single-player experience in the new Call of Duty then it's time to make the upgrade.
Along with the campaign, features such as the Weapon Paint Shop and the suite of eSports tools will not be included in the previous generation version of the game. This represents the first big step in the direction of developers no longer supporting the PS3 and XBOX 360. It could be viewed as corporate greed, but I'm choosing to think of it as a positive move toward the future of console gaming.
With the removal of this content, the price of Call of Duty: Black Ops III on PS3 and XBOX 360 has been reduced to $49.99 and will include a digital download copy of the original Call of Duty: Black Ops.
