Aaron Greenberg Gives Update On Crossplay Talks Between Sony And Microsoft

And here we are again. Discussions about Cross-play are back on, and it seems like we still won't get a decision anytime soon. Gamereactor managed to speak to head of marketing at Xbox, Aaron Greenberg in Cologne. They spoke at length about various topics, but the chief of concern was whether we would be getting cross-play or not.

Absolutely, yeah. We're talking to Sony, we do partner with them on Minecraft and of course we would like to enable them to be part of that; one community, to unite gamers. So we're talking to them and we're hopeful that they'll be supportive of it.

So, there are still talks and cross-play is not dead in the water. I for one am still hoping we will see cross-play, as I have many Xbox friends that I would love to challenge at some games, but not willing to move to Xbox to do so. I feel like we are moving to a new era in gaming, but Sony is still holding us back for fear of certain security issues.

Hopefully, Xbox can help ease those fears. What do you think? Would you like to see certain games come through in cross-play? Should Sony give in or hold out against cross-play? Let us know.
