MORTAL KOMBAT 1 Kombat Pack Has Been Officially Revealed

For every Mortal Kombat game of the new era, there have been leaks for new characters to be released and they’ve generally been correct. Mortal Kombat 1 had leaks as well and to no surprise they were correct! Warner Bros Games and NetherRealm Studios have released the trailer for the Kombat Pack 1 DLC revealing six playable characters that will be added to the roster.

Roster leaks have been a big thing since the new era of the franchise started. The leaks cause a buzz on social media and spread word-of-mouth gaining popularity for the franchise. Some might see it as spoilers but I actually like to see people talk about the leaks and give speculations about what may or may not be true.

The trailer reveals all six of the new playable characters. The video starts with a landscape shot and then quickly changes and shows a red and white “O” on somebody’s chest. After a pan-out, our first of the six is revealed, Invincible’s Omni-man. Then, joining him on his left in the image at the top of the article, we have Ermac sporting a whole new look and Quan-Chi, both returning to the franchise. On Omni-man’s right, we have DC’s Peacemaker with a striking resemblance to John Cena (here’s to hoping we actually get some voice acting from him), and Takeda who is a returning fan-favorite to the series. Then floating down from the top we get a red, white, and blue uniform worn by none other than The Boys’ Homelander.

Out of the Mortal Kombat characters, even though he looks different, I am most excited to see Ermac’s return. The best reaction I’ve seen for the in-universe characters is Takeda, he seems to be the front-runner for fan-favorite returns. For the super three Omni-man, Peacemaker, and Homelander, I’m hoping we get some voice acting from J. K. Simmons, Cena, and Anthony Starr.

Mortal Kombat 1 will be available on September 19th for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. Who are you most excited to see join this roster?
