Strange and mysterious games have a way of grabbing the attention of the curious gamer as their trailers show off so much yet give only a glimpse of what to expect. One well-known studio that has pulled this off has been Playdead with their games Limbo and Inside, but now, that studio’s co-founder Dino Patti has created a new studio, Jumpship, and announced their launch title Somerville. While this isn’t the first showing of the game to be available, it was unveiled during The Game Awards and given a release window of 2022.
Simply described as a game where the player’s end goal is to make their family whole again. As they face a world catastrophe, players must navigate their way through the perilous terrain ahead. This journey will lead them to unravel the mysteries of Earth's visitors as the game shows the representation of the intimate repercussions of a large-scale conflict.
Somerville hasn’t listed all the platforms that it will be released on yet, but you can find that it will be coming to PC as there is now a Steam page for the game. Personally, I am super excited for this game and can’t wait to see what kind of world design is going to go into this one. After beating Limbo and Inside a handful of times, I’m ready for a new surprising journey!
