The official Need For Speed website has been taken over by a large countdown timer! The timer is slated to hit 0 on August 14th at 7 AM PT/ 10 AM ET. It is expected that when the timer reaches 0 we will finally get the reveal of the newest Need For Speed title. The title was confirmed a few moths back in an official blog post on EA’s website.
“What have we been up to? Well, as you can imagine, we’re in the business of making games, and Need for Speed games at that. You can also probably guess where this is going, but for those who haven’t– a new Need for Speed game will be releasing later in 2019!”
The new Need For Speed din’t make an appearance at EA’s EA Play Event and honestly it could have really helped the event out . The last title in the series was 2017’s Need For Speed Payback and due to its poor reception the series hasn’t been seen since. 2019 marks the franchises 25th anniversary so a new title this year makes a lot of sense. With the team having so much time to work on this newest entry I think it might just be safe to cautiously optimistic!
