New Multiplayer Shooter ARENA BREAKOUT Aims To Bring Console Experience To Mobile

When thinking of mobile games, hardcore shooters aren't what immediately springs to mind. Titles like Escape From Tarkov and Hunt: Showdown are far closer associated with console and PC. Out to try and change this, MoreFun Studios, a subsidiary of Tencent Games, are developing Arena Breakout, a hardcore tactical shooter for mobile platforms.

Arena Breakout brands itself as an immersive shooter and sets out to try and wring as much graphical fidelity as possible out of smaller devices. Set in an open world known as the Dark Zone, players have a choice of taking the lawful or criminal routes, between taskforce members and rogues.

Surviving out in the Dark Zone is not easy, and players are fragile human beings. A realistic health system means figuring out how to treat various different injuries on the fly. Fortunately, there are a number of tools at their disposal, with a gun customization system that spans 700 different parts.

Matches take the form of an Extraction Shooter, with being able to snag what's needed and escape undetected being just as effective as gunning down opponents. A variety of playstyles are meant to be accommodated.

Arena Breakout is currently in closed beta, and will be holding tests for Android users in Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines later in the month. Sign-ups are available via their webite. The finished title is scheduled for release on Android and iOS devices.
