Publisher PM Studios and developer MiroWin released Desperate: Vladivostok back in November of last year. It has proven to be a well-received VR title, due in no small part to its bullet hell mechanics and cyberpunk setting. For a few months, the game was exclusively digital but has been given the green light to provide physical copies for gamers who enjoy owning a tangible product.
The game is set in a cyberpunk reimagining of the Perestroika era of the Soviet Union. Perestroika roughly translates to “reconstruction,” and was a time of reform in the government of the country. This is a deep premise that is elevated by the hyper-adrenaline-infused shootout gameplay. Players will experience the story of a hired killer, with a narrative told through dialogue and comic-inspired cutscenes.
A mode of endless waves of enemies is available as well. Players can enter an arena of ever-changing environments for a chance to place their name on the leaderboards in a fast-paced real-time combat session. The game offers dynamic music to make each playthrough feel personally engaging.
Desperate: Vladivostok will receive a physical release for PSVR only, through VideoGamePlus and other major retailers. The digital version is still available on PSVR, Meta Quest, Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, and SteamVR.
