PLANET COASTER is Bringing Insane Detail to Its Crowd Simulation

A few months ago the talented team over at Frontier Games announced their amusement park simulator, Planet Coaster. While not like their ambitious space epic that is Elite Dangerous, this new one hopes to bring back the fun and whimsy of classic games like Roller-Coaster Tycoon with a crazy level of detail put into the simulation aspect of the game. Earlier today Frontier released their first developers diary discussing the amount of time and care that is going into creating a realistic living, thinking crowd. The success of your park will be easily measured by the smiling faces of those that visit it. I've gotta say, I love the art style of the game as it feels very light and fun. I lost hundreds of hours to Roller-Coaster Tycoon growing up, and I can see Planet Coaster taking up hundreds more!

The "Early-Bird" Pre-Release version of Planet Coaster will be available in March 2016. You can pre-order it now for £49.99 (about $77 USD) for PC.

The wait is over! Our first Dev Diary for Planet Coaster is here for your viewing pleasure. The joy of the crowd starts with the joy of an individual, and that's the magic that we wanted to capture. The team talk about the philosophy behind creating a living, vibrant, and personality-driven crowd.
