Recently, we found out the official launch date for Rock Pocket Games space horror title Moons of Madness is both near and far with the Steam release coming in just two days, but the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions coming out on January 21st, 2020. While those hoping to grab a console version will have to wait, the hype for its official release on Steam is beginning as they released a new gameplay teaser.
Showing off one of the first encounters with a creature, the subsequent chase sequence, and eventual failure to escape, we get to see how there will be a mix of split decisions, calculated choices, and focus needed in order to survive these… things. While I do look forward to a few calm puzzles, there really isn’t anything like having to solve something under the high-intensity pressure of possibly dying at any moment. What was supposed to be a simple task can quickly turn into a true nightmare.
Sure, we did get to see a full 12 minutes of gameplay of this Lovecraftian horror set on Mars, but a short reminder video of what we can expect so close to launch—and so close to Halloween itself—is always a nice reminder. Soon we will get to play as Shane Newehart, chief engineer on a research facility on Mars, who suffers a disconcerting dream only to awake and find that reality is far more terrifying than even your worst nightmare! Players will need to rely on their problem-solving skills, remain calm, and swiftly run and hide if they are to have any hope of survival.
Gear up and secure your space suit, gamers; it’s time to get to work. Do you have what it takes to survive this defenseless space horror?
