Punishing Metroidvania GRIME Shows Off Its Intro Cinematic
Choosing to do their first game reveal at Gamescom 2020 was a strong start, but now Clover Bite is following that up by revealing their game’s intro cinematic during E3’s weekend. Shared by their publisher Akupara Games, we are officially treated to a glimpse of the dark universe that upcoming Souls-like Metroidvania title Grime takes place in.
This cinematic fully demonstrates the raw artistic talent of the Isreal-based team with its strong, eye-catching visuals and showcases the beautifully crafted score by Alex Roe, known for his work of his remasters of the Soulsborne series. It already proves they are meeting their feature of “eye-popping surrealism,” so I have high hopes that we will also experience challenging bosses, a unique skill progression, death-defying combat, and whatever ‘living weapons’ is supposed to mean.
Grime is currently slotted for a PC via Steam release in 2021, but they are aiming to announce more platforms soon.
