Reviewsby Amy Slatterly

NOTE FROM THE EDITOR: We here at GameTyrant have been absolutely bombarded with so many products and games this year already. We will be rolling out select quick reviews to let our audience know about products, games, and DLC that may have slipped under their radar. We appreciate the amazing support from all publishers and developers out there!

We’ve reached The Season of Holiday Review Insanity with an onslaught new game and hardware releases that are night impossible to catch up on. So, on Dasher, on Dancer, let’s dive in!

Dangbei N2 Mini Projector
Available Now

The Dangbei N2 Mini Projector is a shockingly capable little unit, packing a ton of features into a tiny form factor. Built-in streaming apps, automatic keystone and focus adjustments, and a genuinely impressive image for its size make it an excellent portable projector. Slight Wi-Fi issues and some extra image tweaking hold it back just a bit, but overall, it’s a highly recommended piece of hardware for movie and gaming fans alike.

We love this little unit and you will too. Included in our Holiday Gift Guide as well so check out the entire guide if you are looking for some Holiday cheer.

TerraMaster F2-425 Plus NAS
Available Now

TerraMaster F2-425 Plus offers an impressive array of features for the price, including an advanced OS, a fast 2.5GbE port, and bless them, zero hidden subscription charges. It’s an affordable, powerful little NAS box with only minor drawbacks like a slightly quirky interface and an all-plastic chassis. Even with those nitpicks, it’s a near-perfect value and an easy recommendation for anyone building out home storage.

We’ve also, believe it or not, included in TerraMaster in our Holiday Gift Guide as well so check out the entire guide if you are looking for some Holiday cheer. So much hardware to fill those stockings with!

Red Dead Redemption Switch 2 Edition
Available Now

Red Dead Redemption for the Switch 2 is nothing short of a modern miracle a gigantic, stunningly detailed open world that somehow runs near flawlessly on the Switch 2. It looks fantastic, plays beautifully, and handles like a dream in handheld mode. Whether this is your first time stepping into this classic cowboy boots story for the first timeor your tenth replay, this is the definitive mobile way to experience Rockstar’s masterpiece.

Some games and just timeless and even though we’ve been waiting for RDR on modern platforms for a long time, it’s finally here! Highly recommended. And yes, it’s also included in our Holiday Gift Guide as well so check out the entire guide if you are looking for some Holiday cheer. So much hardware to fill those stockings with!

Total Chaos
Available Now

Total Chaos makes the rare leap from ambitious mod to full standalone game, and somehow manages to keep all its freaky charm intact. It’s unsettling, weird, atmospheric, and absolutely fun in a “should I really be enjoying this?” kind of way. Sure, it’s a little rough around the edges like most mod-born projects but the experience is unique enough and polished enough to be well worth the price of admission for horror-adventure fans craving something different.

Dark. Different. Recommended.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Switch 2 Edition
Available Now

Assassin’s Creed Shadows for Switch 2 is a shockingly polished and thoroughly enjoyable experience that defies the negativity you may have heard. Yes, there are some graphical downgrades, but the overall gameplay, presentation, and performance make this a near-perfect mobile port. As a go-to game for on-the-go samurai and shinobi action, it’s absolutely fantastic and one of the Switch 2’s sleeper hits.

Yes, there has been a lot of ups and downs over the years with Ubi but there have been more highs than lows as of late and this is one of them.

The Drifter
Available Now

The Drifter is a pitch-perfect homage to gritty, pulpy 80s adventures with stellar voice acting, a gripping storyline, and a wonderfully tight sense of pacing. It plays beautifully on Steam Deck and other handheld devices, making it perfect for portable mystery-thriller binges. We’re late to the review party, but make no mistake this is an absolute must-play.

One of the best Steam Deck titles out there IMHO!

Guild Wars Reforged
Available Now

Oh the memories! Played this one on my Uncle’s PC oh so many moons ago. With new graphical and modern accessiblity enhancement, the classic just got even better. With New World and other MMOs shutting down, now is a fantastic time to dive in for the first or 20th time.

With the excellent Guild Wars 2 out for years, it’s time to go back to your roots, even playable on Steam Deck!

FlexForm Series | All-in-One Modular Case for Switch 2
Available Now

So many Switch 2 accessories, so little time. Luckily JSAUX makes some of the best and the new Mod Case for Switch 2 is one of the better ones we’ve testes as of late. A bit bulky for backpacks etc, it’s still a great case and organizational system.

If it was a bit more compact, it would be perfect. Either way, JSAUX has a ton of options for your prized Switch 2 available now.

The Last Case of John Morley
Available Now

The Last Case of John Morley delivers an absolutely gorgeous and immersive atmosphere that immediately pulls you in… but sadly doesn’t manage to keep you there long. The underdeveloped plot and one-and-done gameplay loop make it more of a treat for whodunnit aficionados rather than a must-play mystery for a wider audience. It’s stylish and moody, but for most gamers, it’ll be an easy pass.

If you are a whodunnit fan, this is for you, otherwise, it’ll mainly be remembered for its incredible atmospheric presentation.

Skyrim Anniversary Edition for Switch 2
Available Now

Skyrim Anniversary Edition for Switch 2 is the exact opposite of what anyone asked for in yet another rerelease that looks, feels, and performs almost identically to the original Switch version from years ago. Still locked at 30 FPS in 2025, it’s hard to recommend this version unless future patches bring much-needed improvements.

It’s still the amazing classic masterpiece that we all love in it’s best form but why is this not at least 50-60 FPS for a 14 year old game on totally capable hardware? Here’s hoping we get a patch ASAP. Tough one to score.

Escape From Tarkov (Steam)
Available Now

Escape from Tarkov has launched on Steam and it deserves massive credit for shaping an entire subgenre and influencing countless games… but in 2025, this Steam launch still feels far too rough. While the hardcore mechanics and tension remain unmatched, it lacks the polish, accessibility, and fluidity found in games like recently launched ARC Raiders. This one remains strictly for the diehard Tarkov faithful newcomers may want to look elsewhere first.

This one is a hard pill to swallow as the legacy of this game is undeniable but after so many years, why is there still so much lacking in the polish of what could be an incredible title? Here’s hoping it improves over the hears.

Of Ash and Steel
Available Now

Of Ash and Steel leans hard into Euro-jank territory and look, I love some good old Risen-style jank but this one might push even the most seasoned RPG veterans to their patience limits. The graphics are incredible, the sound design is excellent, and the voice acting is surprisingly solid, yet none of that fully compensates for stretches of gameplay that feel plain boring. This is very much a title for the most hardcore, tolerant, and patient old-school RPG fans… and probably only them.

I wanted to love and score this game higher but in the end, there is just too much mud to crawl through to get to the pearls per se.
