Batman Beyond (Black & Gold Version) Sixth Scale Figure: Overview and Impressions

Everyone loves the Caped Crusader, right? Well, maybe everyone except the bad guys he dishes out justice to. That’s why there’s a whole day dedicated to him on September 19 every year. Impressions

Before anything else, the Batman Beyond (Black & Gold Version) figure has to be taken out of its box, of course. And as usual, everything is packaged exceptionally well, offering plenty of plastic protection without hindering easy access to all the individual pieces inside.

The striking black and gold of this figure is (obviously) the highlight, with the contrast providing an equally elegant and badass aesthetic that will no doubt be a standout on any collectible shelf. For those who want to inspect further, the level of detail here is (unsurprisingly) nothing short of excellent, too, continuing Hot Toys’ killer attention to making their figures feel authentic to a character.

It’s worth noting that nearly every inch of this figure is drenched in gold, including the skin on Batman’s face. I think I might’ve preferred only the suit sport the black and gold aesthetic, but that’s just me nitpicking. As-is, I do appreciate the red glow of his eyes, which gives the night-faring detective an even more intimidating look.

Speaking of intimidation, when posed with the batcape fully extended, Batman looks especially threatening. And you can also deck him out with iconic tools from his utility belt, like batarangs and his explosive gel gadget, if you want to set him in a fighting pose.

As I always point out, I’m a simple person who prefers my figures in fairly neutral poses without much of the flair. And in this case, I think Batman manages to almost look even more imposing when posed with his arms by his side with no need for anything fancy. We all know what he’s capable of, after all.

Conclusion

The Batman Beyond (Black & Gold Version) Sixth Scale Figure is a great grab for collectors who really love The Dark Knight. If you’re an especially big fan of either the Arkham Knight franchise or Batman Beyond, specifically, this one is even more of a no-brainer.

If you’re interested in picking up this limited edition version of the Caped Crusader, head over to the Sideshow Collectibles website and snag it for $295.
