With so many ups and downs over the past several decades for the Castlevania series and especially Konami, it’s an absolute pleasure for me to say that both parties are returning to form quite nicely. With graphics filters (for the arcade game at least) and plenty of layout options among just a few newly improved features, this is how you re-release DS games especially!
With the Dominus Collection, we get get all the classic DS entries and even more goodies with Haunted Castle and a remaster. These push the collection from great to wonderful.
We were able to play this collection on PS5 and it doesn’t matter if you are a series veteran or completely new, there is so much to enjoy in what some may call the golden age of Castlevania here. Our only complaint is a lack of a few control configurations and a lack of graphic filter options for the DS games. If that could be added via patch, this score would go up even further
Regardless, this collection rocks and especially for Castlevania fans, this is a must buy.
