Return To A Classic With PERSONA 3 RELOAD

Persona 3 is widely regarded as the beginning of the franchise’s rise to prominence, and Atlus hasn’t let this go unnoticed. The Japanese developer is giving both new and long-time fans the chance to experience this classic title in a whole new way with Persona 3 Reload.

Announced at the Xbox Games Showcase, Persona 3 Reload is a full, ground-up remake of the game that transforms the 17-year-old game into a modern marvel. Many of the visual upgrades are reminiscent of the improvements Atlus made to the franchise in recent years with Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal.

Reload will feature new voice acting, new character models and art, a revamped UI, and additional scenes and character interactions. Notably, however, this will be a remake of the original version of Persona 3 and won’t include some of the content included in Persona 3 FES or Persona 3 Portable. The most significant of these missing additions will be the female main character who was added in Portable.

Persona 3 follows the exploits of SEES, a group of students at a local high school who can harness the power of Personas to fight monsters called Shadows. These monsters only attack during the Dark Hour, a strange moment in the middle of the night that exists outside of normal time. At the center of the Dark Hour is a mystery that connects all the members of SEES and leads to dramatic revelations.

Persona 3 Reload is currently slated to launch in Early 2024 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It will also be available at launch as part of Xbox Game Pass. No other platforms have been announced at the time of this writing. And for more on Persona, check out our reviews of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden.
