Rock Hard With New Indie Rogue-like Deck-builder POWER CHORD
Indie developer Big Blue Bubble’s new roguelike deck-builder Power Chord just released. For anyone interested, we previously covered Power Chord here. Power Chord will feature a wild rockin’ adventure where players will assemble Earth’s mightiest rockers to form the Knights of Thunder Fist and embark on a monster ass-kicking debut tour. In Power Chord, you will take back a beloved local dive bar from the Helmoth’s heavy metal demons and close the tear between worlds by winning a twisted battle of the bands!
In Power Chord, players will have the opportunity to assemble their own band, choosing from a diverse cast of characters, each with their own unique set of cards and playstyles. Players can then combine the different band members' cards to unleash devastating attacks and shred their opponents. The game features a variety of stages that players must battle through, unlocking new cards as they progress and discovering new strategies to take down enemies. However, players must also be careful, as if a band member falls in battle, they will be lost until they are revived at a pit stop. This adds an extra layer of strategy to the gameplay, as players must balance the risk and reward of using their best band members.
Power Chord’s gameplay will consist of easy-to-learn, yet intricate, turn-based combat inspired by many recent deckbuilding-style hit games. Unleash a setlist of powerful cards based on each bandmate’s uhh…unique, personality, from the roles vocalist to guitarist, to drummer, and bassist; each with cards matching their ‘musical spirits’. In addition, four free post-launch DLC musicians will help shred through an encore setlist, two of which will appear as early as sometime next month. The four new Free DLC characters and accompanying decklists will be sure to spice up the game for everyone after its initial playthroughs.
Power Chord is available on PC via Steam with plans come to Nintendo Switch at a future date.
