It’s time to rock and or roll baby! Developer Big Blue Bubble has announced the PC release date for their upcoming indie deckbuilding roguelike Power Chord for later this month on January 26th. The heavy metal-themed roguelite will also thrash its way to the Nintendo Switch at an unspecified date in the future. For those about to rock, Power Chord will center around fighting off an invading army of punk rock hellspawn that have invaded your local music territory. It’s time to send these losers packing with an epic battle of the bands!
Anyone interested in Power Chord will need to prepare for an epic ground-shaking battle of the bands with the fate of iconic music venues hanging in the balance. In Power Chord you will assemble a team of music heroes to fight the demonic punk rock invaders from the Hellmouth! Build your deck of a setlist with cards based on bandmates abilities and personalities. Powers will vary from things like the lead guitarists stat buffs to the bassist’s DoT. Players will earn gear and learn new techniques for the band’s deck at each rest stop. It’s time to Take back your hometown with radical, turn-based combat, one dive bar at a time
Power Chord will be available on PC via Steam on January 26th, with a release on the Switch TBD at a later date.
