Square Enix announced on Monday that the battle royale game Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier had officially entered its second season, dubbed “Dominate the Sky.” Along with a brand-new character class, called Styles, Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier is adding a new boss and summon in the dragon Bahamut.
Once players defeat Bahamut in battle, they will gain access to the Bahamut summon materia that changes players into Bahamut. Once in control of the Dragon King, players will be able to use his signature moves like Megaflare.
The new Style, Dragoon, pays homage to the dragon hunters from Final Fantasy games past. Players can utilize the ability ‘High Jump’ to launch themselves into the sky, giving a new mobility option for players. Not stopping there, Dragoons have been given the style trait ‘Sky Predator’ that lets them glide around the battlefield. Combine that with an MP absorption ability and a lance to boot, the Dragoon is sure to be a formidable foe in the race to be the last SOLDIER standing.
Also new to the game is the Teleport materia, which will create portals to other areas of the map. But watch out! Other players can use your portals, too! Season 2 also brings quality of life changes coming in the latter half of the season. Before long, players will be able to build custom matches, and a spectator mode is also planned. From now until March 9th, players can earn special bonuses, including a special Chocobo mount, for logging in daily.
Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier is a free-to-play game with in-app purchases. It is available on the iOS App Store for Apple Devices and Google Play Store for Android players.
