For the 6th anniversary of the release of Hyper Light Drifter, publisher Gearbox Publishing and developer Heart Machine announced the next series game Hyper Light Breaker. For the first time, players will be able to explore the world of Hyper Light in 3D via single-player or online cooperative multiplayer.
The game is currently in development from the same award-winning studio that created the original Hyper Light title. There was an exclusive first look at Hyper Light Breaker following G4’s “Xplay Presents: Hyper Light Drifter Celebration + World Exclusive Announcement” livestream, which can be found here.
“It’s wild to think it’s been six years since we released Hyper Light Drifter. The long journey from the dream project getting Kickstarted back in 2013 to now has been incredible. We feel deeply fortunate to be able to celebrate the franchise in this way,” said Alx Preston, Hyper Light Drifter creator and Heart Machine creative director.
