SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI V Will Also Be Released In The West For Nintendo Switch
Over the years, Atlus has been busy developing Shin Megami Tensei V, the long awaited entry in the franchise that will be released for the Nintendo Switch. At first, it is only confirmed to be released in Japan, but Atlus decided that it will also come to the west after all via a trailer released yesterday, so fans from the west can rest easy now.
The game is set in modern day Tokyo, where players can expect to confront a new variety of demons set to bring chaos across the country. The trailer showed in-game footage (that is still in development) of Shin Megami Tensei V, and mind you, the trailer gets real dark, and bloody.
The game is known with its turn based combat and its demon negotiation system, so make sure that you are brave enough to face the many disturbing scenarios the game will bring. If you are new to the series, and would like to check out some of the past titles, the last entry in the franchise was Shin Megami Tensei 4: Apocalypse that was released back in 2013 as a 3DS exclusive. It seems like Atlus has focused its games with Nintendo’s handheld consoles, maybe due to the fact that its spin off series Persona, is focused on other systems.
As of now, the trailer serves as the first teaser of the game. The last time that Shin Megami Tensei was discussed in the gaming community was when it was hinted during Nintendo’s Switch reveal. Besides the trailer and the plan to release the game to the West, Atlus is yet to reveal a release date for the game.
When this game is released, Shin Megami Tensei V will add to Nintendo’s growing list of mature games. Currently, we have Resident Evil Revelations 1&2, Doom, and Skyrim to name a few. With the release of these third party mature titles, maybe Nintendo is starting to attract a more mature audience once again. What are your thoughts on the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei game? Are you ready for it?
