One game mode that many fans of the classic Splinter Cell series miss is the spies versus mercenaries mode. While there are still some servers held open by players that refuse to let go, there has been an unfortunate drought in this game mode’s official existence. However, indie developers Symbiosis Games are looking to revive this online player-verse-player mode with their upcoming game Spectre.
So far, they have only one trailer to really show off what the game will offer, but even with less than one minute used, you can see the gameplay that many of us have been missing. They are hoping to bring it to Steam sometime within the year 2021 and so I am hoping to at least see an early access version of the game before the year ends. This is a game mode that has needed a solid return since Blacklist!
The way they have it set up is the spies will be known as Spectre’s and the mercenaries will be known as Reapers. As the game mode has always entailed, players will experience the intense action gameplay from both perspectives, relying on their teammates to aid against the opposing team.
