Surviving Mars is a sci-fi city builder and a survival game wrapped into one. With continued updates and mods released since the official launch, it has successfully merged these two genres into one. Colonizing the Red Planet has been a space fantasy for humans since technology has enabled exploration of our solar system. The challenging game from Haemimont Games and Paradox Interactive provide the opportunity to fulfill that imperialist urge.
Now, a sequel is on the way. We don’t know much beyond the details of the teaser trailer, but Surviving The Aftermath will presumably be in a post-apocalyptic setting. The sequel may increase the environmental dangers if the meteor shower has anything to say about it. More information will be announced during PDX Con in Berlin later this month. The game will launch in late 2020, but it will first be available on Game Preview for Xbox One and on Early Access for the Epic Games Store. After that, it will also release on Steam and PlayStation 4.
