Today, April 27, 2021, is the day that marks the end of the handheld console, PlayStation Vita. The final titles to ever be released on the game are available today and there are no further plans to bring any more games to the PS Vita moving forward. As a fan of the console myself, I never understood why it didn’t take off as well as it could have, but the populace never truly picked it up and so Sony is now moving forward, away from the era of this handheld device.

Unfortunately, this era-ending moment doesn’t come with any talk or rumors of a new handheld device from them either. So, what are the final games to release on the PS Vita?

ScourgeBringer

ScourgeBringer by Flying Oak Games and Dear Villagers originally launched on PC via Steam on October 21, 2020, this pixelated rogue-lite platformer has made its way onto the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita just in time to be on this final game launch list. Before coming to the Sony platforms, it also released on to the Xbox Game Pass and Nintendo Switch.

The story follows hero Kyhra, who is sent away to uncover the secrets of an Eldritch monolith that is threatening to destroy her world. Armed with her trusty combat drone, she must shoot and slash her way through the infinite depths of an ever-changing dungeon, wherein gigantic bosses, ancient machines, strange ghosts, and untold secrets from previous explorers await.

Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story

Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story by Suzaku and Top Hat Studios originally launched on PC via Steam on August 25, 2020. It has since also released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Coming to the PS Vita as one of the final titles, this 2.5D horror game inspired by Clock Tower and Fatal Frame, mixes cyberpunk with traditional Cantonese folklore.

In 2083 Neo Hong Kong, a young woman named Mei-Lin Mak is dragged into a maelstrom of supernatural horror. As she peers deeper into a century-old mystery, Mei will be forced to question her perception of reality and whether she trusts her cybernetic eyes. Under the neon lights of a cyberpunk dystopia, the ruins of the 'Chong Sing Apartments' hides a bloody mystery illuminated by both the traditions of Chinese folklore and the innovations of the industrial future. If there is any hope of escaping this nightmare, Mei-Lin must explore this complex, piecing together the stories of 14 lost souls, and discover the truth of her own family curse.

Synergia

Synergia by Radi Art and Top Hat Studios originally launched on PC via Steam on July 27, 2020. Now, this title is also available on Nintendo Switch, PS Vita, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. In this yuri cyberpunk-themed visual novel, players enter a new world where love becomes the ultimate crime. They will play as Cilla, a lonely police officer whose life changes after meeting an extraordinary human-like android named M.A.R.A.
