UBISOFT's Cryptic Reveal of FAR CRY PRIMAL

Today around noon Ubisoft started a livestream of a cave painting that has been gradually growing over the last 7-hours. So far that is all we've seen, but according to Kotaku's pals over at Ubisoft, it's a reveal for the next entry in the popular Far Cry franchise that will take place in the Ice Age. The title is Far Cry Primal. While I think a huge open world game where I can ride woolly mammoths and hunt with prehistoric weapons is cool, I'm not sure that it fits as a Far Cry game. I started playing around the time of Far Cry 2 and am not sure steering this far away from the original games is a great move. Why not just release it as a new standalone IP? After all, don't we get enough time and space hopping with the Assassin's Creed games? Oh well, what are you gonna do? Hopefully we see more than some cave paintings soon. You can scroll through the past 7-hours yourself below.
