At BlizzCon 2015, the gaming juggernaut that is Blizzard announced that they would be kicking off some serious eSports goodness, particularly with their answer to the ever popular MOBA, Heroes of the Storm. This year aims to be one of the biggest in eSports history, as more and more about pro-gaming is seeping into the mainstream media. Tossing their hat into the ring, Blizzard is offering a collective $4,000,000 for their 2016 season.
The Heroes of the Storm 2016 Global Championship Circuit will include a Spring, Summer, Fall, and Global Championship event. The level of production going into these events is out of this world, and Blizzard is poised to be the next big man on the eSports campus. While I am more of a fighting game spectator myself, I love seeing the growing demand for more pro-gaming coverage. I'm excited to see what lies ahead for Blizzard's push into this fast growing form of entertainment.
