A Sony Stunner
According to both a PlayStation Blog entry and details from Gamesindustry.biz, Sony has announced a $3.6 billion purchase of Bungie, original creators of the Halo and Destiny series among others. While of course, some details are still unknown, this supposed latest swing back at Microsoft is detailed somewhat in the mentioned Sony blog.
A few highlights are listed below but since this is both developing and breaking news, I am sure more details will be revealed soon. Either way, it looks like the gloves are coming and off with Sony having to pull out some pretty heavy-hitting news to counter Microsoft’s recent bombshell news of purchasing ActivisionBlizzard. What other surprises are in store for 2022 on this front? Time will only tell but if my gut tells me anything, this is far from the last massive merger or buyout incoming.
