Can We Get An F In The Chat For Mixer?

In a rather abrupt announcement made on Twitter earlier this week, Mixer revealed that they would be closing shop. The streaming platform has decided to shut down operations and is teaming up with Facebook Gaming in an effort to provide a smooth transition for their Creators, who will soon no longer have a home.

Current content creators for the dying streaming service will be given the option to move over to Facebook, and receive an equivalent status level when it comes to the monetization programs, as well as multiple other incentives.

Viewers are encouraged to spend their remaining Embers/Sparks to support their favorite Mixer Partners and streamers, as Partners will receive double-payment for the month of June, so your support will go a long way. Those that have large Ember balances, channel subscriptions, and Mixer Pro subscriptions will receive Xbox Gift Card credit as a thank you for their continued support of the platform.

Mixer will continue to stay live until July 22. Afterward, anyone trying to log into Mixer.com will be redirected to fb.gg. If you want more details regarding the whole situation or answers for FAQs, you can visit the official blog post that addresses what’s next for the platform.

Mixer was considered a big competitor among the various streaming services, so it will be interesting to see how other platforms (especially Facebook Gaming) are affected due to this big change.

What do you think of this whole thing? Are you among the many creators being affected by this abrupt change?
