PC Gaming Show 2020 Recap Pt. 1

This year’s PC Gaming Show was the biggest one yet, featuring brand new reveals and never before seen footage from around 50 titles! The 2-hour broadcast showcased footage for multiple highly anticipated titles including Evil Genius 2, Godfall, Mortal Shell and so much more. There were also some pretty exciting game reveals and teasers sprinkled throughout the show with titles like Persona 4 Golden, Icarus, Twin Mirror, along with many others.

The show was so big that I have decided to split this recap into 2 parts. You will find the first 25 titles that were talked about below and can find the rest in our PC Gaming Show 2020 Recap Pt. 2 article that will be available soon.

Valheim

This Viking survival game pits players up against various monsters as they try to explore a procedurally generated world. With the ability to craft weapons, ships, and shelter, players must make the most of their environment if they wish to have a chance to survive. Sign up for the beta at www.valheimgame.com.

Ooblets

Releasing later this summer on PC and Xbox One, Ooblets features farming, pet collection, dance parties, and… bears wearing pants? Check out the new psychedelic trailer below!

Torchlight 3

The next installment of the beloved Torchlight franchise makes its debut! The game is available now via Early Access. You can find the official announcement trailer, as well as a developer interview covering what the game has in store below.

Elite Dangerous Odyssey

The next era of Elite Dangerous is almost upon us! In the upcoming expansion to the vast space exploration simulator, players will have the ability to leave their spaceship and explore the various planets found across the 1-1 recreation of the Milky Way galaxy. Persona 4 Golden

This critically acclaimed RPG is now available on Steam! Featuring HD graphics and Japanese/English audio options, Persona 4 has never looked better and it’s out on PC right now! Check out the official announcement below.

In Sound Mind

This psychological horror game coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X sometime next year will drag you through your deepest, darkest fears. The game was created by indie development studio, We Create Stuff, and published by Modus Games. The debut demo is available to play now on Steam, and don’t forget to check out the official announcement trailer below.

Airborne Kingdom

Coming to the Epic Games Store later this fall, Airborne Kingdom allows players to construct their very own sky city and explore an ever-changing landscape. Check out the official reveal trailer below!

Dwarfheim

In this upcoming cooperative real-time strategy title, up to three players can split the load of scavenging for materials, building communities, and fighting enemies. Be sure to wishlist Dwarfheim on Steam, and sign up for a Multiplayer beta happening later this month. Don’t forget to check out the official announcement below.

Humankind

Humankind is an upcoming historical strategy game being developed by Amplitude. The game combines over 60 cultures, so players can create unique civilizations as they rewrite history. Arriving sometime next year, players can assist in the development of the game by signing up to play the title while it is in its early stages over at opendev.humankind.game. Icarus

From the creator of DayZ, Dean Hall, Icarus is aiming to shake up the survival game genre. The free-to-play cooperative multiplayer title will have players exploring planets whilst searching for resources in order to permanently advance their tech, and embark on longer gathering missions. Players must keep a close eye on their oxygen supply, as well as their food and water meters, or risk losing everything they have gathered. The game is scheduled to release sometime next year. Evil Genius 2

In this first look at Evil Genius 2 gameplay, we are shown how to become the world’s greatest supervillain in 7 easy steps. Beginning with the construction of your evil lair, and ending in world domination, this list appears to be relatively easy to follow. Arriving sometime later this year, fans can wishlist Evil Genius 2 right now on Steam, so they can be notified exactly when it launches. You can check out the gameplay for yourself below!

Godfall

In this gameplay reveal for Godfall, the lead director over at Counterplay walks us through a brief glimpse of the world that they have created. Although subject to change, what we are given in this gameplay trailer is absolutely stunning! The game will be releasing on both PC and PS5 this holiday season.

Prodeus

Coming to Early Access later this Fall, Prodeus by Bounding Box gives off big original Doom vibes with its retro, but modern art-style, and sci-fi demon-slaying. Check out the official announcement below, and don’t forget to wishlist the game on Steam.

Fae Tactics

Fae Tactics follows the protagonist Peony, as she explores a mystical fantasy world. The game features unique menuless turn-based combat where players must use their magical arsenal to defend themselves and their party. Scheduled for a Summer 2020 release date, don’t forget to wishlist the game on Steam so you know exactly when it goes live.

Project Wingman

Project Wingman from Sector D2 and Humble Games throws players into the cockpit of a fighter jet and features RPG elements, as well as VR support. Be sure to wishlist the game on Steam so you can be notified when it launches later this Summer, and don’t forget to check out the official reveal below.

Carto

This beautiful top-down puzzle game has players reassemble the area surrounding them, as they complete quests for the local inhabitants. Carto will be arriving later this Fall and is available to wishlist now on Steam. Check out the wholesome reveal trailer below.

Blankos Block Party

Grab some friends! This fun little party game has players group with some of their closest buds, and participate in countless fun mini-games. Players can also create custom levels for all to enjoy! Everspace 2

Everspace 2 puts a large focus on space exploration and aerial combat. In the upcoming space action title, players will be able to not only fight in the dark abyss that is space but also within the atmospheres of the various planets found throughout the game. Players can participate in the closed Alpha happening on June 15 by visiting everspace.game. Check out the announcement trailer for yourself below!

Inkulinati

Inkulinati is an upcoming turn-based strategy game inspired by medieval marginalia. Players fill the shoes of a Master of Living Ink, an individual that is a part of a legendary group that battles each other with ancient medieval manuscripts. You can back Inkulinati now on Kickstarter, and wishlist it on Steam to be notified when the game launches. Check out the reveal trailer below.

Total War Saga: Troy

Arriving on August 13, Total War Saga: Troy will have players participate in one of the most iconic battles in the Trojan War, and allow them to complete it in various different ways. Players will have the ability to storm the walls with siege towers, sneak into the city with a “gift”, or take advantage of nature and attack just after an earthquake. Remnant: From The Ashes Subject 2923

Remnant: From The Ashes Subject 2923 is an upcoming DLC for Remnant: From The Ashes, and will be the biggest update that the game has seen yet. Mafia: Definitive Edition

Here we have a closer look at the ground-up remake of the 2002 classic, Mafia. Mafia: Definitive Edition is apart of the Mafia Trilogy and is available for pre-order now! If you want to learn more about the upcoming remaster, be sure to check out the official trailer and dev interview below.

Rogue Lords

Rogue Lords is a turn-based combat game with rogue-like elements. Players take control of the Devil and must build a team of his most faithful disciples in order to wreak havoc in a world that has changed due to his absence. The game also promotes cheating. At any point, players can spend souls to manipulate the user interface, and turn the fight around. You can get your first look at some Rogue Lords gameplay below.

Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy

Unexplored 2 puts an interesting twist on the staple mechanics of the rogue-like genre. On top of the perma-death and procedurally generated environment, when a playable character dies in Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy, they alter the world around the player; providing a unique twist on the genre. Dauntless Call of the Void

In the most ambitious update the free-to-play RPG has seen yet, ‘Call of the Void’ sends players on a quest to unravel a mystery surrounding an ancient civilization. ‘Call of the Void’ is available in Dauntless today, and as an added bonus, players that use the code “pcgamingshow2020” at playdauntless.com can score some free in-game rewards.
