Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, the acclaimed JRPG remake from last year, is making its way to PC next week. Square Enix made the announcement with a new trailer at The Game Awards last night, featuring footage from both the base game and the INTERmission bonus content that was exclusive to the PS5.
Final Fantasy VII Remake was the long-awaited, ground-up remake of the 1997 PlayStation classic, and the game was met with almost universal praise when it was finally released last year. It was a critical and commercial success for the studio, surpassing 3 million copies sold in just the first three days it was available.
It had all this success despite the controversy that it wouldn’t be a full remake of the entire original game. Instead, Final Fantasy VII Remake (FFVIIR) is an adaptation of the Midgar portion of the original game with additional content and story added to make the game feel like a full release.
The INTERmission content was added with the PS5 version of the game this year and features an entirely original story set concurrently with the base game. Beating INTERmission unlocks a few brief cutscenes that take place after the events of FFVIIR.
FFVIIR has been a PlayStation exclusive since its launch in April of 2020, but it will be available on PC exclusively via the Epic Games Store on December 16, 2021.
